HELP WITH BROWSER ISSUES

This page is designed to assist you with technical information and system requirements for using the City's Document Management System. It provides information that will assist you with accessing the system.

Please consult your Systems Administrator or Technical Resources before installing any software. The City of Carlsbad is not responsible for any damage to your computer due to the installation of the recommended software.

Is my Operating System and Browser supported?

If you continue to experience problems, please contact the System Administrator.

What Operating Systems and Browsers are supported?

The following Operating Systems and Browsers have been tested and function with the appropriate Java Plug-in.

Windows 7

Internet Explorer 8.x and greater

Windows Vista

Internet Explorer 7.x and greater

Windows XP

Internet Explorer 6.x and greater

What if I'm using a MacIntosh?

At this time, we cannot provide any support for Macs. Sorry for any inconvenience.

What is Java and how do I get it?

Java is a small utility used to enhance your browsing experience. It is utilized by the city's Document Management System to maintain the connection between your computer and our Document Management System. You will not be able to access this service without Java.Download the latest Java version.

What do I do if I can't open the document or map?

All of the the documents in the City's Document Management System are in a Portable Document Format (.pdf). To read and print out these files, please install the free Acrobat Reader. After Acrobat Reader is installed in your system, you should be able to view the documents.

All of the the maps in the City's Document Management System are in a Tagged Image Format File (.tif). In most cases, a TIFF viewer to read and print out these files should already be on your computer. However you can install the free TIFF Image Viewer, if you do not already have it installed. After the TIFF Image Viewer is installed in your system, you should be able to view the documents.
